How Come You Don’t Know God Yet?

Probably the most widespread and persistent problem to be found among humanity is the problem of retarded spiritual progress. Why, after years of doing so much learning and living, do so many persons find they are no farther along in life than they should be?

They go to school, read books, listen to teachers and lecturers, watch film, listen to and watch electronic media for insights to life’s purpose and its meaning, yet make no progress. The causes of retarded growth are many. It would not be accurate to ascribe the trouble to one single fault. One there is, however, which is so universal that it may easily be the main cause: failure to give time to the cultivation of the knowledge of God. Not to those who claim to have unique knowledge and wisdom from elevated masters, but from God directly. The human spirit is strong or weak depending upon how closely its person has cultivated the knowledge of God.    But, how does one learn of God?
Many people have gone to school from kindergarten all the way through college, and many past that to gain a Masters or Doctorate degree in a specific field of knowledge. But throughout this academic journey they never took the time to study about God and His creation. They viewed the knowledge of God to be mere religious dogma or fanatical trivia, when in fact the knowledge of God is the basic foundation needed to fulfill a person’s goal in life. They view any study of God to be simply a small part of their life; one that they needed to study for a few years during their youth, which was sufficient. If they did pursue any study, it’s obligatory at most.
Each and every human being on earth should not only have ample knowledge of God and His purpose in their lives, they should actually be teaching others who come from behind us, such as our children!
For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food. (Hebrews 5:12)
Instead, like little children who need easy to digest milk in their early lives to build a solid growth foundation, today's youth and adults continue to settle solely for soft and easy-to-swallow nutrients, rather than moving forward with a wholesome fare of rich steak to chew on!
Not only does the body need an advanced source of fuel for its growth, the mind, soul and heart needs adavanced knowledge of God (our creator), to more so maintain a happy and wholesome life among friends, family and colleagues!
OK! Is it too late to know God?
     Of course not!
But how do I learn more about God?

There is only one source to go to learn about God, and no other entity in history has ever claimed to have this knowledge: The Bible! Is this knowledge in the Bible truth or false? Is it man conceived or is it truly the divine message from God Himself given to a few men and woman throughout history to write down His message.
Did you know that it really doesn't matter to have those questions answered just yet! Oh! They will be; but the transformation you will experience will mesmerize you!
No other book in history has been so examined, so scrutinized, so debated and so commented on than the Holy Scriptures. Academics, historians, professors and students alike (and even a genius or two) have read, studied, wrote and taught its content. No more lives throughout history have been impacted or changed forever by any other source of knowledge and wisdom as has the Bible. Yet, no other book in history has received as much scorn either. But yet the wisdom and knowledge contained therein has provided changed lives, developed new countries, and its wisdom and precepts have formed moral and civic laws that have become the foundation and structure for the government of societies as no other source since the beginning of time.

Progress in our life is exactly equal to the growing knowledge we gain of God in personal experience. And such experience requires a whole life devoted to it and plenty of time spent at the holy task of cultivating God. God and all that He entails can be known satisfactorily only as we devote time to know and get closer to Him. The only thing that stands in our way of accomplishing this is our own pride. Are you too proud to believe there is something greater than yourself?

                               Psssst! There is!

There are two great web sites that you can visit and actually place them on your book marks or favorites. They are so easy to navigate. You can ask each site any questions you may have about God, and the answers pop up scripture verses you can read and study. These two sites are: Bible Gateway and Blue Letter Bible

  1. Great blog. When I look around and see TV and read the papers I am constantly reminded that what this world truly needs is the One who created not only this world we live in but the entire universe! One of these days He - Jesus, if readers haven't guessed already - will return and set things in order and there will be true peace and justice and blessings for all. Until then we who follow Him should constantly look for opportunities to share Him and his teachings and love to all others that we come in contact with. Blessings, Monica
