You Are To Consider Aliens as Natural Born Citizens!

We would like to briefly present a few Bible verses that hopefully will provide you with some insights into the problems of immigrants (whether they are here illegally or not), and how God views the concerns being expressed by many whose hearts are filled with anti-immigrant sentiment.

Back in the early founding of our nation, among the first to settle on American shores were the Puritans who embarked on Massachusetts in 1620. One of their primary motivating precepts included what they believed was a fulfillment of Bible prophecy (Manifest Destiny) and that they (the first Americans) were in essence the "New Israel" and that America would henceforth be The Promised Land. Many folks still believe in this ideology. If this be true to any degree, and if this belief came about due to the American's understanding of the Bible (and many still proclaim that America is a Christian nation and has been established by God), then we must also accept what God's word states about aliens.
Did you know that aliens (according to God's word) are to be considered as native-born people?
     "Hogwash" you say!
"Thousands upon thousands of aliens (especially from Mexico) have crossed the border illegally and therefore are criminals because they have broken the law," you still say!
In future blogs we will examine the specific ssues concerning the border between Mexico and the United States and why (and how) they were established. But for now let's say that border laws enacted by the United States and Mexico were not in the best interest of either Americans nor Mexicans; and that, also, no one group or race or government has the right to say who is allowed into or out of any land mass or property that belongs to God.
All land is God's land and no one can superimpose laws (as the Arizona Legislature did recently) that God has already established. Those of us who live in this land are stewards, caretakersof this free land we reside in; but we do not OWN the land! Yes, we are to pray for government leaders, in order that they are just and conduct their administration in a manner that protects all residents. If God moves one tribe into a different geography, in order that it can participate through hard work, that's His business, not us ours (stewards) who are enjoying His free gift of provision.
If someone steals from his neighbor, he or she must pay a price, just like the thousands of residents that are in prison today for committing a variety of crimes more heinous than seeking work to feed their families. But to brand as criminals ALL of those who migrate to this land, solely to work and feed their family, is an anathema to God.
Nevertheless, the following verses state very clearly what God says about the alien issue, whether one considers them illegal or legal:
"You are to distribute this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. 22 You are to allot it as an inheritance for yourselves and for the aliens who have settled among you and who have children. You are to consider them as native-born Israelites; along with you they are to be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. 23 In whatever tribe the alien settles, there you are to give him his inheritance," declares the Sovereign LORD. (Ezekiel 47:21)
The following verses (among many, many others that can be found in the Bible) basically state how God feels about the weak and feeble, the lost and downtrodden, and what He plans to do to those who oppress them:
I will seek the lost, and I will bring back the strayed, and I will bind up the injured, and I will strengthen the weak, but the fat and the strong I will destroy. I will feed them with justice. (Ezekiel 34:16).

Yes! Times are different than they were 30, 40 and 50 years ago, when the American people and its landscape looked solely like a Norman Rockwell painting. However, we live in harsh and perilous times. The days ahead appear critical on all fronts (economic deterioration, depletion of our personal finances, healthcare wars, corruption in government, greed and a variety of maladaptive proclivities by the elite and powerful money-changers; and the incessant and burgeoining hateful attitudes that deny and abrogate the former loving and caring spirit that was admired by other nations. Spurning and maligning our fellow human beings will not right the frightened heart, but only turn it more bitter.

Nope! Never Again?

So who do we believe? Do we rush in and act out the hate and bile being broadcast on a daily basis by those who stir the pot of fear, like ALIPAC, border militias, and all the media divas (or divos) who work for the elite money-changers of the world, who seek even more power through media manipulation to enhance ratings, or do we do turn to God to intervene and help us to do the right thing?
God not only loves a United States,
He loves a United Humanity!

  2. The Hebrew word “ger” is used to define the words, sojourner, temporary inhabitant, a person living out of his own country, a foreigner, a stranger and alien, throughout the Old Testament. These definitions come from the King James Bible and its corresponding Concordance. Joe Ortiz does not have any Bible versions of his own. And he is not afariad to put his name on what he writes or comments on.
